Unhappy Rattling Noises

About two months ago I started hearing a rattling noise when I would hit a bump. When I drive the car, it seems to be coming from the passenger side door, or in the hatchback. I first thought it was the liftgate, but, after removing the liftgate the noise is still there. When seated on the passenger side, it sounds like the rattling noise is coming from the driver side. But this past weekend, I rode in the back of the car and it sounds like the creaking/rattling is coming from the back. You figure it out. I have a 2002 GTS. Does anyone have any ideas what this noise might be? Its driving me crazy.

Possibly a loose bolt in the door that has fallen off somewhere.

I had something similar, except it was only when I turned up my music pretty loud. I'd hear this rattling noise, drove me nuts. I'd kinda looked back and stuff and didn't notice antyhing. Well I never ahve passangers in the backseat, so I didn't notice that a shelter dog I'd transported had chewed my seatbelt behind the passenger seat. So until I fix it it rattles inside anytime I turn up the music, and the louder I turn it up the louder it rattles.

Eclipse4utoo, I haven't made any mods on the car, its exactly as the factory sold it to me. I've noticed that it gets worse in cold weather also.

Its actually more of a creaking than a rattling. Sounds like a door that needs oil, but the hatchback operates perfectly when I open it, no creaks or anything.

I read it as the passenger side, not passenger side door. Had a rattle like that in my car, couldn't figure out where it was coming from and it turned out to be a heatshield.

Ok so disregard my post.

I have a weird noise right now too...a few actually, first when I turn left my wheel or down by my feet on the left makes a whine/grinding noise...not sure if its the power steering or ??? any thoughts? Also lately i've been hearing rattling coming from behind the dash, behind the vent on the far drivers side and the vent on the far passenger side...any thoughts on that??

Re: Rattling Noises

Most likely you rotors are warped, or your calipers are F-ed up. As for the dash I would blame it on shotty worksmanship. Pull the dash and look around to see if there is any places where you can see it wearing.

Okay, okay, can we get back to my original question?
