Door lock and unlocks while driving

The drivers side rear door locks when I drive but then it unlocks and continues to lock and unlock everytime I come to a stop or slow down. This is driving me crazy. Please don't say "TAKE IT TO THE DEALER"

Re: Door lock and unlocks while driving

It could be a bad connection or broken/frayed wire where the wiring harness goes from the body to the door at the hinges. Pull back the rubber boot & check them carefully.

Re: Door lock and unlocks while driving

Have someone how can verify over the phone that they are willing to work on Vaccuum locks, which is what your car has. They are a bitch to fix if you know nothing about them. Believe it or not, a lot of auto body places are good at that because they deal with wrecked cars and side impacts. You may want to check that out. an autobody place instead of a mechanic/ dealer/ auto shop
