Cool ECU question

Does anyone know if you have to change the ECU if your swapping auto to standard for an integra?

Yes because the ECU thinks there is something wrong with the tranny and the Check engine light will stay on. It just wants to think that the car has to go into a gear P R N D, etc and your really going into 1st. So make sure you change that out or the check engine light will be on all the time.

You mean the Auto ECU? Yes it will run with the ECU but after a short time with the "check engine" light on...the ECU detects that there is a problem and it will lack the performance of your car. It's almost like it just shuts something off inside of the ECU. that's pretty much the only reason is because it thinks there is a problem with the car and doesnt want it to get hurt.
