Alright - not to sound like a complete idiot - but.... I recently installed Sirius in my 2003 Silverado. Now it appears that I need to add a SAT-SWB FM switching box to improve the communication between my radio and the satellite receiver. Basically the truck antenna plugs into this unit and the the switching box plugs into the jack where the truck antenna used to. My questions are these:
How hard is it to remove the stereo from the trucks dash? And how do you do it?
Is the antenna hard wired into the stereo or is a jack used?
Sorry for the dumb questions - but the last stereo I relaced was on my 76 Chevy Pickup (which is still running!!) - and I have a feeling that it may be a little more difficult this time!!

Aint hard to get out. Just pull off the bezel (piece of plastic that runs around the edge of radio/temp. control core/dash. It'll be hard at first but it'll get a lot easier once you get it started. Once that is off, there are three bolts that hold the radio in place. I think they are 5.5mm, but I am not sure. Once they are removed it will slide right out. The antenna is just plugged into the back, and will pop right out.

Personal opinion - I go to a Best Buy, Circuit City, or car stereo installer spot and pay the $25 to have them do it. They do this stuff in less than 25 minutes and it might take you hours and hours unless you know what you are doing or like handling "spaghetti".

My advise is to get either a cassette adapter or other hardwired connection between your Sirius tuner and radio. I had LOTS of trouble with the wireless interface. Tons of fading in and out and I had to switch the frequency selector as I drove city to city as the local radio stations would interfere. The cassette interface has made my Sat Radio reception rock solid.
