Photo hosting websites.

Well, if you don't already know, I just got an email this morning from Zing, a photo hosting website, that they are closing down on July 2, 2001 for good. This is unfortunate as this site has a lot of my stuff in there and I need to put it someplace else. Anyone familiar with a good, FREE! , website that can take different types of pic file formats. They recommended one called Ofoto, but they only take .jpg's(which I found out after I registered, DAMNIT!!), so need one that can also take .gifs. If anyone can tell me one or tell me another name for what you would call a website like that and I will search for another one, I will appreciate it. Thanks a bunch.

How many photos and how many megs total?

Not exactly sure. They are in folders and vary in the following sizes: 4.77mb, 677kb, 485kb. These numbers will obviously be increasing as I find more animated gifs. I use them for my avatars, to put them in posts etc. Zing was really good, but they are now out of business. If you have something similar to what they have, let me know. I also would have to upload them off my hard drive, again!!

But, what can you do.

I have my web space I get with my ISP, I have 15 MB's, and I am far from full. If you need to you can upload to there for awhile.

Ok, here's one thing. I am an earthlink subscriber. Part of my DSL package deal was my own webspace. Lot of space, but I don't know how to make the damn thing work. I haven't set it up and the last time I tried, I made a mess. So I just left it alone. The instructions that they come with are not very understandable and can't answer most of my questions. Not even the FAQ's they provide handle the issues I came up with.

So Igor, where you at man?

www.imagestation.com Its a sony site and the interface is really good. You have to download some uploading software - then you can upload and the thumbnails appear on the site. There are loads of options AND you can link straight to the photos.

Check it.

It turned out great. I'm almost finished uploading the pics. I just have one more folder and then a whole bunch of other pics I recently acquired. Thank you so much. It is actually exactly like Zing. So it's pretty much the same thing.
