My valve cover is complete! Take a look!

Finally got my valve cover all done along with the spark plug cover...Painted it glossy black and polished the letters. Tell me what you guys think. Took over 12 hours to do all the cleaning/prep/paint work and i finally got pics of it on the car. Everything together took well over a day.





It used to be original, never had paint. Took it off, stuck it in a tub with soapy hot water, took it out, cleaned it the best i could with various cleaners, gave it another bath and let it dry....Then i started to sand it with 80grit, got it all sanded down, then i sanded it was 180grit...Blew it off with the air compressor, gave it one last bath and let it completely dry in front of a torpedo heater. I used Mother's Mag & Aluminum polish on the letters, then taped them off with masking tape. Made sure to cut out the letters perfectly with a razer. Blew it off one last time, made sure the tape was on good, brought all the paint and shit into the house to let it all warm up. Started painting it in the basement with a room temperature of around 75F. Sprayed 7 light coats of glossy black high-temp paint and let it dry over night for about 12 hours, then pre-heated the oven to 200F, stuck the valve cover in there for an hour, then let it cool and took it out. Then my dad had some spray polish in a can, so i finished it off with that. All in all, it came out PERFECT. Not a single scratch, crack, drip or anything. I was really impressed with the results.

yes, that is duct tape on the uicp pipe lol....it had a leak, along with the licp....duct tape fixes everything lol....just temporary till i get aftermarket
