Dodge Mechanics Help!
hello,
I have a 1992 dodge ram 250 van (mark 3). I have a overheating problem. when i drive it over heats full on the gauge. but if i drive it on the freeway it goes down to about 3/4 on the gauge. which is still too high. i thought it was my radiator but i replaced it and still have the same problem. if you got any suggestions please help! thanks |

Is the fan working properly? When driving at highway speed enough air passes through the radiator to cool it, but at lower speed the fan is needed to move enough air through the radiator.

Re: Dodge Mechanics Help!
I've heard of the vanes on the water pump going; if you're not flowing enough coolant you'll have that problem. Replace the thermostat while you're doing the job and you should be good to go.
*crosses fingers*
