Re: help with radiatior fan

Fans draw enough current that its best to use a relay. That way you can use a smaller gauge wire to run to the switch and less chance of the switch burning out. I can throw up a wiriging diagram if you dont know how to do this. But I would recomend that you just get it working the way its supposed to. Check the factory relay, its mounted next to the right side (passenger) headlight. More than likely its either the relay or the sensor. I'm not quiet sure where the sensor is at, but I'm sure you can look it up in Helms.

Re: help with radiatior fan

This is the bottom side of your standard 30 amp relay. (86) will be ran to your switch (87) will be wired to the battery, using the same gauge wire that is on the fan leads, I'd use 12g just to be on the safe side (30) will be wired to fan possative (85) will be grounded. You will also need to ground your negative wire coming off the fan.

I'm not sure what sensor it is, but one of the temp sensors controles the fans. Maby someone else on here can help you with that one. Also insted of hooking it to a switch, you could wiring it to your iggnition so that it will automaticly come on when the car is started and go off when the car is off. You can do this by runing (86) to the fuse panel and tieing it into something that only comes on when the car is started, such as the radio.

Re: help with radiatior fan

simple....get a 2 prong switch from autoblown. splice it into the ground wire of the fan...done. you don't need to wire in any relay....been runnin' mine for over 7 months now.

Re: help with radiatior fan

My wiring from the harness is f**ked so I wired mine up to the ignition. All you have to do is ground it good to the chassis and use a 20a fuse on the positive wire and you're good to go...
