'98 Jetta GT won't start....
Hello, I have a 98 Jetta GT (manual tranny) that I rarely drive. It sits outside in a cold climate (Ottawa, Canada) and is exposed to the elements. One day I went out to start the car and nothing. No clicking from the starter, no nothing. We called our CAA guy and he tried to jump start and nothing. He did a test on the battery and said that it was charged and looking good. He said that there doesn't seem to be any power going from the battery to the rest of the car. The lights, clock, and everything else electronic is not working.
I was thinking that it could be a fuse so I checked them out and they seem OK. I unhooked the battery and cleaned all of the corrosion away. I checked out all of the wires and they seemed fine.
Any ideas as about this one?
On a side note: After I hooked the battery back up, i sat in the car and started flipping through the manuel. I noticed that the fuel and temp gauges were boncing to min then max repeatedly. What's up with that?
