Help with performance gauges

A couple of weeks ago i asked you guys for some help installing an intake and the info ya'll gave me helped alot. This time i need to ask anyone if they could help installing some reverse glow gauges. I ordered them off e-bay for dirt cheap but they didn't come with instructions. Guess thats why they were cheap. The guy guy says they work so thats not what im worried about.....But here's what i need i got them in there easy and everything but i need to know what wires go to where. Like if anybody has a picture of the wiring diagram or could tell me where the wires go thatd be a big help. Please hit me back if you kn0ow anything.

Oh also how do i put a picture next to my name when i post i see you guys with pics and i wanted to put my car on there .

Re: Help with performance gauges

Give me about a day or so to give you a wiring diagram, I just recently pulled mine off. There is one special place to wire them in that I found, Does your car have fog lights? It does matter to some extent. Also what kind of switch did you get? Im gonna try to post a bunh of hot to puics online, but I cant find a good website to post the pics, and leave good detailed instructions yet.

It is pretty strait forward. I just put mine in. Instead of wiring them through my headlights i put them through a toggle switch. It was easier than going through the firewall to the main fuse box. I used my cig lighter to power the switch because its only powered when the car is on, and then hooked my gauges into that. the only needles you need to take off are the speedo and tach, TRY YOUR BEST NOT TO MOVE THE OTHER 2. remember what your tach reads when you are at idle, and that is easy to set back. the speedo will probably be off by about 5 or so mph, showing faster than you are really going. drive next to someone and talk to them on a phone to see how fast you are going. while you are driving have your clear face off of your gauges and then move your needle to the speed you are going (set cruise on open stretch of rode). All you need is a power and a ground for the gauges so it is pretty easy. Lemme know if you have any problems.

Re: Help with performance gauges

Please dont talk on a cell phone, and drive at the same time. Instead tell the guy what speed to cruise at before you start driving.

Hey Stickin It its been a few days, I'm not trying to sound redundant here just wondering if you ever had time to draw up a picture of where those wires go.

Dude, its not bootleg, its just easier. Im telling you. Wire a toggle switch just left of your cig. lighter. (take the consol apart and drill a hole that fits the switch, and wire it to the power and ground on your lighter). Then put the gauges on and wire the ground to the ground on the switch, then the power to the power. Plus then if you ever want to install neons/interior lights you already have a switch to run them through. I have blacklights under the driver and pass. feet...looks real sweet at night, and the lights are not really visible. Thats how you do it...dont need to worry about running wires to any other wires and anything. Good luck.
