'98 CR-V rear differential howling

I just recently purchased a used manual-transmission '98 honda cr-v with approximately 95k miles on it. I bought it from a small shop and had them replace the timing belt and water pump before I took it home. They also replaced the rear differential fluid, and told me that they don't think it had ever been done before. They gave me a quart of the fluid they had left over, and it is "Honda Genuine dual pump fluid", which I believe to be the correct fluid to use. I've had it a bit over a week now, and I am getting a howling-type sound coming from the rear only on sharp left and right hand turns. Should I be concerned? If the fluid was just replaced, is there anything I can do? Thanks for any help.

check the fluid level or take it back and have them check the fluid level, we get howling sounds on sharp turns when the fluid level starts to get low...

I had the same problem. I went to a Honda dealer, got the fluid, took it to an oil change place and had them put it in. Fixed the problem immediately.

The rear diff fluid is one of those things with the CR-V that you just have to stay on top of as an owner...an added item on the regular maintenance list.
