your opinions...

im thinking of replacing my type x's with 2 12'' XXX, or Brahma's, im going to upgrading my alternator, and adding another battery to that, my power is 0/1 guage wiring, which splits into 4, into 3 amps, and the wires that connect to the subs are 14 guage, will i have any problems, + i would like to know whats the price diffrence between the both of them, i really think im going to go with the XXX's, also will i need more power, i have 1 1/1000 watt JL. Thanks

Re: your opinions...

yes you'll need a lot more power, for either the xxxs or the brahmas you would want at least another 1000/1. The brahmas would be fine on 2 of them, but the xxxs might want even more power...you could probably get away with it though.

The price difference should be very small, $10-$15 probably. The Brahma 12 is $379 shipped and I think the XXX 12 is $359 or so plus shipping, so they should come out about the same.

Re: your opinions...

sure there's cheaper, but the problem is if you go with something else, you'll need to get a ~2000rms amp and take out the 1000/1, which will probably end up costing about the same as a second 1000/1 if you get something of the same quality.

if I were going from scratch and needed to power a pair of brahmas, I would get a US Amps USA-2000, no questions asked.

Re: your opinions...

i love them, they hit hard, its just my voice coils kept burning, and the ive heard the type x's are pretty high known for their voice coils being burnt often, i had to switch them out like 3 times.

Re: your opinions...

Were the gins not set right? They should be able to handle a 1000/1 just fine.

Re: your opinions...

SUV's sucks for bass.....Ive found that it can take as big as 18's in an SUV to match 12's in a car.
