First of all, let me say that it is awesome to have found this place and thank you for the welcome from suislide.
I have a question for anyone who wants to answer it. Thanks for the FAQ and I was sure to read it first but it didn't answer my question. I have a 1990 240SX. 2.4 SOHC. I don't want the sr20, i just want to convert to DOHC. I've heard it's possible, i would just like to know exactly what I'm going to need and exactly how to do it. Thanks. I look forward to responses. jfin5 |

Re: DOHC Conversion
It might be easier to just sell your 90 and find a 91+ 240...Unless you like to work on cars and have the time.
I think you will be happy with the DOHC engine too! Welcome! |

yup, the power steering lines and pump need to be put on the other side of the car, driver side i think. you need the ECU as well, maybe the wiring harness too
just look on google, i remember finding step by step instructions at one site |

Re: DOHC Conversion
its way too expensive when you consider how much it would be to just buy a whole ka24de.. i found rebuilt ka24de's for $599USD. pm me if you want some info. i'm gonna go ahead and buy one in february so if anybody else is interested let me know.. we might get a deal if we buy more than one.

Yeah, going out and buying a reman DOHC will probably be cheaper than doing the conversion.
