door hinge pins

I need help with replacing driver's door and passenger door hinge pins and bushings. I have a 1996 Suburban. any tricks of the trade or websites out there that will walk me through it. Also what parts do I need. thanks for any help that comes my way.

The job is fairly easy and straightforward...until the door slips off the jack and scratches the paint and bends the door or fender.

You will need to get a door spring tool (Mac,Matco or Snap-on)
other than that, find a way to hold the door, some people use jacks, I use an engine hoist with a piece of webbing to hold the door..this way you can suspend the door away from where you are working..note comment above.
Use masking tape to protect the paint on the fenders and door, support the door, remove the spring and knock out the pins and bushings..press the new pins into the hindge and reposition the door and knock in the pins (use some grease on the pins to slow down wear)..install the spring and you are good to go
