Driving in a beast

well first off this is my first thread i ever made about a race and just to let you know why i was driving this i'll tell you. I am 17 and i have 72 with a 350 stock and the reason i got this car because my neighbor has 71 nova 396(very fast) well i knew him all my life and he told me if i gave him 500 dollars he would put a stock 396 he has in his garage and put all his advanced parts in it... so i couldnt let that up, but while he was doing that i was gonna drive his car around, i mean this guy was like a dad to me...

so to the racing part,

first i decide i m gonna take this beast and pick on my friend who has a eagle talon with a new turbo he just put in cuz he thinks he hot shit with it, so we take it to the highway and light turns green and i whip his ass from start to finish, but he says he wasn't lookin at the light so he wanted to go again, so next light waiting for the green, a vett pulls up revvin it up, looked like someone my age, well light turns green, this time i get to watch a race in the rear view mirror. my friend beat the vett or so he says cuz i was to far ahead to know,

well anyway i pull into a gas station cuz this thing eats gas like it'll never have gas again, well all the old guys at the gas station sayin nice car and this and that and here we go, this kid in my highschool who actually does have the fastest car, pulls in with his 5.0 askin me where i picked up that car i tell him the story, hes like you want to go and i was like please lets, so i wait for him and we pull out, go to a red light,
revvin it up hes like shaking his head like hes gonna whip my ass but nope light turns green gets me by about a car off the line shift into second 396 kicks and puts me ahead hes behind for about a car length, wasn't gonna look back to find out, 3rd gear, bye bye 5.0

well thats my experience so far with the fastest car i may ever drive, 2nd day i had, got about a week left with it... expect more storys

Re: Driving in a beast

Good kills.
However im alil "iffy" about the corvette race. Maybe even the bigger turbo DSM. Both of those cars are not something that a car just walks from. What else was in that nova? Just the engine? blower? anything? Im aiming towards believing you, but im gonna at least think you stretched some figures.

Re: Driving in a beast

Nice kills. Yeah, I don't think that a Nova even with a 396 can just that easily kill a Corvette. If the dsm was awd, than he should have had a way better launch than you.

Re: Driving in a beast

not exactly sure i mean i couldn't pin point each and every part, but basicly has all racing parts on it, custom worked heads, bored over 030 or whatever, my neighbor owns and works at a high performance shop so everything is pretty much worked on.

Re: Driving in a beast

like i said the person in the vette was my age, couldn't tell if it was auto. or man. was 2 lanes away, and the talon has awd auto, but the 396 isnt something stock its a monster, and the nova has tires are wide and made for street racing,0pps point i missed, has a 2500$ fuel injection system on it

Haha, man you have the exact same car as me, down to the 396 bored .030" over and the modded heads. Nice race, i wish i could have been there. Im suppose to race one of the moderators here who has a 1972 240z and i think that should be a fun run, from my standpoint atleast. Well, i think the next step for you is to actually learn the mechanics of the car so you can do some of the work yourself, it gets kinda costly to have others do it.

You're racing RED! Seriously, for the sake of everyone here, GET VIDS! PLEASE GET VIDS!!! It would make me giggle like a freaking school girl if you got some. I think everyone would have to agree with me on that one. Late...

Re: Driving in a beast

um...talons normally don't beat corvettes. maybe if it was a really modded talon against one of those economy geared auto corvettes..then i may think otherwise. and you say you were going to 'pick on' him..as implying he's not really that fast...well a 12 second car isn't exactly something you 'pick on' unless you're running 10s.
