poor runnin' 5.0 LX convt.
Hello, we're new here my 16yr old has a 92 5.0 LX convt. w/auto.
we had a blown head gasket so we had both heads redone plus put in new timing gears & chain new water pump.new plugs,wires,cap and rotor. And it runs like s#@ t... maybe a injector ?? if so hows the easist way to check ??? we have lots of time. car is put up for the winter. thanks for any help.... |

Stuck injectors will usually (but not always) tick.
You're dead sure you got the timing correct and the firing order correct (I myself have a bad tendency to think the dist. turns the other way)? beg/borrow/buy a fuel pressure tester, make sure the pump is good. Run the engine until it starts reading the 02 sensors, then kill it. Pull the plugs, if you have a stuck injector it's plug will be white (lean)and all the others on that bank will be black (rich). also, does it have the stock converters? Did you get any smoke when the HG blew? Cats don't live long after getting antifreeze in them....

The car doesn't have much power, and sounds like it's not runnin' on all the cyl's.(missing ) Runs better @ higher RPM's. Hope this helps you,help us. Thanks |
