Jetta has been running fine since new. Recently, when I accelerate rapidly and really gun the car, by the time I'm in fourth gear, the "brake" warning light flashes along with beeping (by "brake" I mean emergency brake light). If I ease off, staying in fourth, the beeping stops and the warning light turns off after about three seconds. Car runs fine and the brake light flashes at no other time. Any ideas?

Possibly brake fluid is low?
Have a vw dealer check for codes in the brake system. |

Re: 2000 jetta: brake warning light with beep
Thanks. Turns out the brake line was rusted, so the fluid wasn't circulating properly... That should take care of the problem.
