Re: my door handle broke

If you don't know how to fix it, then you will be bringing it to a bodyshop. They can estimate the price for you in less than 10 minutes, and it won't be a guess over the internet.

Re: my door handle broke

I have broke one on my passanger side. This is not a rare thing among DSM's. The you can take it off the old one and switch it. We did it on my friends spyder.

EDIT: I have a 95 GS.

Re: my door handle broke

Happened to me, passenger side on my 95 GS. Ive heard of it happening to other people too with 2gs. Its a crazy world out there. And most likely, I suppose youll have to change the whole thing, I have yet to take mine apart yet, but you may be able to take the lock part out and change it to the new, unbroken, handle. Ill go look tomorrow, I get insurance on it again. No more 240sx.

EDIT: Urban...I was writing this as you posted...you speed demon.

Its common amoung DSMs to have the door handle broken. I've seen it happen to several DSMs. I bought my car with the driver side door handle broken off, what I did is I bought a new unpainted handle for around $50 and had it painted for another $20 and then put the door handle in myself, it was really easy and it takes about 1 hour to do, and thats only because I have big hands, and you need small hands to get inside the door. You can check ebay if they have a handle in your car color, I got sick of waiting on ebay for someone to put up a Red door handle and thats why I bought my new and painted it. The key cylinder is seperte from the door handle, so all you have to replace is the door handle.
Here is a picture tutorial that show you show to change it, I followed this writeup: here

My drivers side door handle broke off recently too. I purchased a handle from ebay and just had t painted... No big deal. And the keyhole is different then the handle part. You dont have to worry about that. Good luck with that.
