Wrx Sti Vs. Evo Mr

so yesterday i was chilling with my boy and his sti and my other boy who recently traded in his evo8 for a evo mr,

sti- turbo sx 4"down pipe. 3'test pipe, 3" cat back, (no cats in the exhasut), intake, underdrive pullyes, workx bov 75% re-circulate,espier springs 1.3" drop, sti endlinks, and sway bars,

EVO 8 MR- bone stock with a turbo sx intake

so we decided to do a launch on the street, sti and mr both launched at 6k, off the line through 1st and 2nd we hit the revlimiter, the freaking pulls soo damm hard, we got to around end of third and had the mr by at least 3 cars, in 1st and 2nd the mr was only about 1 car behind, i taught it was pretty damm quick to keep up with the sti with all the mods the sti has,

next we decided to take a long drive into long island thaking the southern state, suprizingly the MR keeps up well on the hi way with the sti, we had a hard time passing him (not really but..) it was wierd the damm mr pulls hard on the hi way, even with the sti's mods the MR was keeping up, but in the sti defence, the ecu was re-set the same day we were messing around due to a check engine light, so the ecu didnt re-learn it self yet. we did 60mph rolls, form 60-80 the sti had only 1/2 on the mr then form 80-130 we walk him, at the end 3 cars..

so we get to a mall and their is a empty parking lot, hummmm, any one for some friendly auto cross/ messing around, we did may runs up and down the lot for fun, some circle things, i forger the proper name now, and varios other messin around stuff you would do in a empty lot with a STI and a MR, in the end we were down 1 tank of gass,, 1 tank of gas=1hr of fun

all in all a fun night, it cool that the evo8 guy and the sti guy get along well, they are always trying to out due eachother, cant wait untill i can join the fun...

andrew the EVO MR won't let you rev past 5K with the clutch depressed. that is what hurts its 1/4 mile and 0-60 time. how da hell did your friend get his MR to get rev to 6K off the line?

i should have my friend's STi race your friend with the STi off the line. my friend shifts atleast 3x's faster then your friend.

Re: Wrx Sti Vs. Evo Mr

Your friend with the Evo needs to get some mods, but how were the two cars handling wise in the parking lot?

someone at my school had a 3000gt SL and he was having a lot of problems with it so he sold it and his mom got a good deal on an evo8.
the only mod it came with was a cat-back exhaust, and he wasn't really familiar with the car yet..so after about a week or so of having it they put him against this boy who graduated last year, and at the end of his senior year turbocharged his integra.when the boy still had his 3000gt the kid with the teg(before the turbo) would smoke him all the time..so now he got the evo he thought he could take him, it was a close race but the teg pulled at the end and got him by a finnder. lol

integra (205whp) only weights like 2500-2600 lbs

Re: Wrx Sti Vs. Evo Mr

im as assuming he was launching at 6k cause that was what the sti driver was doing, but yea i want to see the race between by boys sti and your boys sti it should be a nice run if my boy ever excepts the challange the whole "i dont steet race" thing is getting tired, he needs to just accept that he does street race and keep the races comming..
