Interior painting question?

I would like to paint a few of the trim parts to my dash on my CRX to a CHROME / SILVER type finish. Can anyone here recomend to me the best type of paint to use? I really appreciate your ideas and input. THANKS

Re: Interior painting question?

Well, I've used two different kinds of paint for painting my interior. I've used model spray paint, it works awesome - make sure you clear coat it. I've also used some of the exterior paint and engine paint from schucks. Honestly - I think the model paint works a little better.

You'll never get the stuff to look chrome with paint, just take it out and have it it chrome plated.

Re: Interior painting question?

Wait nevermind I just saw your sig and saw you already had chrome rims, altezzas, and speed slats on your rear window, so a painted interior would bring the interior up to the rice-level of the exterior.

I felt as if it was right to have the hyphen right there

Re: Interior painting question?

lol yall are so nice i'm glad i didnt paint my interior, would've looked like crap. If anything, imma have a custom shop reupholster the seats, get new carpet, and they can dye or do whatever to the dash, gonna be a black and silver color scheme, but not chrome like he wants. i like sparkly silver! There's a pic of a CRX with silver accents if you search for "interior" you'll find a pics thread.

Anyway, krylon works well, not sure if they have a silver type tho. I would suggest the model paint, but if you don't know what you're doing, i suggest letting a shop professionally do it (as you've alrdy spent thousands on the paint, etc, on that car, what's a little more for the inside?)

do you have any engine work done (other than exhaust and intake)?
if i were you i would save the money and make your car fast(er). the paint will look like shit, iv seen people try and in 6 months it looks like an old ladies face... rember we are in florida (i read yout profile). save for a b16,or b18a/b/c or something like a turbo kit . your car has way too much chrome anyway.

Hoy Sh#$%! Dam you guys get set off very easy. All I was THINKING of doing was to accent paint the two front speaker grills silver. My interior has diamond plate floor mats along with some chrome dash trim...nothing more. And YES I am in the process of getting a new engine for the car. I just never mentioned it yet. I started to do a little research and have been changing my mind a lot. I want to do this right. Do you guys have a life? Or do you just like to bust everyones tail? I noticed the guys who have the MOST post's usually have the stupidiest remarks? Not always though.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What might not be nice looking to you... is to others.
