Re: prelude 1991 h22a swap?

well the swap is possible, is it sensible, not really. alot of that 10g im sure will be put into getting the motor in, and running smoothly, alot of custom fabrication is going to be needed in order for it to work. i suggest you find a reputible shop in england who has done custom engine work before and ask them about it.

Re: prelude 1991 h22a swap?

its hard to say, not alot of parts were avail for that yr prelude so finding anything will be an adventure in itself. id say goto a muffler shop and have them fab up some custom muffler piping, like 2-1/4" and buy just a tuned muffler. maybe if money allows, go get a custom turbo setup made and keep it at low boost, like 6-7psi max and run on the stock internals. as far as other things go, maybe check out the prelude forums here for other 88-91 owners like yourself, and see what they have done.

Re: prelude 1991 h22a swap?

there is really very little you can do to a 91 prelude. Depending on how many miles are on it, you may just want to sell it. You could probably get $1500+ and then get a 4th gen prelude. They aren't too expensive, I don't know how much they would be in England but you can do a whole lot to them and you could find one with an h22 for probably $5000(atleast here) give or take a little.

Re: prelude 1991 h22a swap?

well my friend has a jdm engine b20(lil more hp) but he turbo'd it and his boost is about 7 and he ran a 14.9 1/4 mile. not to mention the turbo is from an old volvo and the intercooler off ebay, but hey i think its pretty quick. If you ask me the h22 sounds like a good idea cause its been done b4 and aparently theres a guy who has one and he runs 13's, but its all relative.
