01 1.8T Jetta startup noise
Hey,
I have a 01 1.8t jetta, and I love the car. It has over 100k on it. Lately when i start the car i hear a loud noise like a fan is rubbing, or the exhaust is leaking. It goes away when the car warms up after a minute. Being its a turbo, where could the noise be coming from? The fans are still running after the noise goes away. Respectfully, Brian

If its a clicking sort of noise or tapping it could be the cam adjuster. Its on the right side of the valve cover. Normally makes the noise for 30sec to 1min after initial startup.
