95 metro starter/headlight problems

i have two problems on my 95 metro.

Sometimes the car starts, other times it doesn't. The lights and stuff comes on but the engine won't turn over, then I'll try again a minute later and it will start no problem. I took it in and they checked the starter, no problems there. Would it be an ignition problem?

Also my headlights used to be faulty and not come on once in a while but now they're permanently messed. When I let down the e-brake the daytime running lights come on, but when I turn the switch to on, they go off, and the orange lights stay on. I just leave it on the middle switch and the lights stay on.

Would there be some wiring shorts or something?

Re: 95 metro starter/headlight problems

Starting problem could be a bad ignition switch. Also check the connector on the starter from the switch to the solinoid. It might be corroded or loose. The headlight problem is common and there is a set of wires (I think they are green, its been a while ) that coonect to the fuse block the arc and char the contacts. I just cleaned mine and its been doing fine for over a year now.
