1991 Camaro wont cold start
I have a 91 Camaro that doesn't want to start when it is cold.I have replaced the distributor cap, rotor, sparkplugs, wires, and EGR valve. The car runs great when it is warmed up.The starter turns over fast so I dont think it is the battery or starter. It has the throttle body injection but it acts like a carbureted motor with the choke stuck open.A friend told me these have a cold start valve, is this possibly the problem and if so where is it located. Thanks for the help!

Re: 1991 Camaro wont cold start
well, i dont know about a cold start valve, but there is a Idle Air Control Valve that may be malfunctioning. also your O2 sensor may be shot, or it could be a PROM fault. have you run the car for codes? the check engine light may not be on every time there is a code set. So its worth doing before you start the guessing game.

No CSI (cold start injector) on TBI engines. Try changing the fuel filter and run some good injector cleaner through it and see if that helps.

Re: 1991 Camaro wont cold start
pull the egr vacumn line off and try to start it, if it starts right up, its probably your Idle air control valve.. (shown in picture) they fail all the time
