Question Aesthetics: Frontier parts for Xterra?

Does anyone know if the newer Frontier's front clip (bumper, headlights, fenders, hood) will fit on the Xterra's nose?

If there is another thread about this information, please lead the way. Thanks.

From what I've heard...

The frame is still pretty much the same, so yes, they should bolt on. It might take a few brackets though around the center grill/headlight area though(?).

Much thanks; I wonder if Nissan plans to give the Xterra a facelift anytime soon...

Uh ... you mean like the 2002 X? It's got a facelift and you can see pics on Nissan's site.

Walt Stephensen's (SWXC) wife brought up a good point while we were looking at the new 2002 at the factory. She thinks that the 2002 is decidedly more feminine. After looking at it for a few minutes, I concur. Come to think about it, what are the demographics of Xterra owners? Is Nissan giving in to traditional SUV marketing while still trying to maintain a tough guy image? Some of the changes are welcome, but that front end..... I am not so sure it NEEDS a facelift.

I would think that Nissan is going to do the same thing that they did with the Pathy (and there is evidence that it's going down that road already) -- they started out with a 'back to basics' SUV and now, only 2 years later, it is becoming more and more soccer-mom like. Wait till 2004, when the Xterra comes standard with leather seats and wood trim and blah blah blah ... :o

Charles and I were driving together in our Xterras. We were on the highway with an Explorer and a Pathfinder. The Pathfinder almost looks like a lowride nowadays.

Oh, and yes Nissan will be looking for the mainstream. They've already sold two years worth to young males. Now it's time to get new buyers.

And perhaps by that time it will be available in Hot Pink, with a cute matching little piggy to ride shotgun. Maybe even a little Bubblicious dispenser in the dash! Mirror in the drivers side visor too. But the best mod would be that inconspicuously placed A/C vent under the steering column!
:bathroom:
