I need info on rallying a TSi AWD
I am looking for info on how to set my 1995 Talon TSi AWD up for rally racing, and autocrossing. Any info would be helpful. After all, If a lancer can do it with a 4G63TN then why cant a TSi?

No man, keep your 2g on the street. Find a trashed 1gAWD for rally and whatnot. There is a guy(prob.a couple) in the American rally thing that races the 1g...and i posted on this a long time ago, ill go look for the post.

Re: I need info on rallying a TSi AWD
the setups for rally and autocross are COMPLETELY different. For rally you want lots of suspension travel, narrow knobby tires, and added weight isn't a big deal as long as its useful.
For Autocross you want to minimize weight as far as the rules for the class you're in allow you to. Get as little body roll as you can and the widest stickiest tires you can fit. Also, stage rally is incredibly expensive. You're looking at $10k at least to get into it (not including the car) and you need to find someone you can co-drive with for a few rallies before you're allowed to drive.

Re: I need info on rallying a TSi AWD
A local guy was very successful in rallyX with a GVR4. Unfortunately I know next to nothing about it, expect that it was timed. Kinda like handicapped bracket racing as oposed to who get to the end the fastest. Sounds like a good time though. But there will definitely be a lot more info out there about autox...

Re: I need info on rallying a TSi AWD
rallycross is a type of racing only done in some regions. It is an autocross done on loose terrain or a frozen lake where all 4 of your runs are added together for your time instead of autocross where only your best run counts. rallycross also uses the Club/ProRally classification system rather than the Solo II (autocross) classification system.
