Absolutely no spark!!! Is it junk?
My car wont move tried almost everything but just cant get spark. I need to know if anyone can tell me how to diagnose a OBD-II without a scanner or anything like it. Ive replaced the distributer, i am now working through altronic 1 process. I have yet to check the ECM but i figure if i can get it diagnosed without having to buy anything else. Maybe i can get rid of more possibalities i havent thought of yet. But any ideas would be much appreciated. its just old seems like everyone of these VW's have problems that leave the best mechanics stumpted. Id appreciate it for some help...James

Re: Absolutely no spark!!! Is it junk?
Get a test light & see if you have 12 Volts between the outer two pins of the distributor connector.

Older vw's (2.0) have a tendency of the ignition coil (located on middle firewall) to go bad, usually starting with misfires and then no spark.
