2003 mpv - automatic - hard shifting

Not everytime.
But automatic transmission will occasionally act like it not in gear. Press the gas and will slam into a lower gear like it is low on transmisson fluid.

Talked to dealer, said to check transmission fluid.
Duh.
Fluid has never been low on dipstick.

Any guesses?

Can you describe more in non-tech jargon? I have the same problem, but not sure what your answer is recommending. Thanks.

Dealer will update transmission software to eliminate the harsh shifting. Common problem with 2004 and many 2003 MPVs.
