3000GT VS. 3000GT (who knew)

First off let me start by saying happy new years to all my felow auto enthusisiasts, new year, new possibilities gotta love it.
Well on my way home from a new years get together with some guy's i graduated with i was driving very cautious, being that its new years and its midnight, i merge onto the highway for my ever so familiar 22 mile drive home from abilene. As im driving along i notice a pair of strangely familiar headlights moving up quite fast. And as they get closer i begin to make out a 97 3000GT an SL i would later discover, he blows past me, being the person i am i dont want to pass up the opportunity to run against a fellow 3000, so i downshift to third and quickly catch up.

"This is where it gets interesting", as i pull next to him he punches it (nice exhaust, looks like mine ) im already in third so i follow suit. At this point were doing about 75 and we're dead even, few seconds later 105 upshift to fourth gear, im now 2 cars ahead and were both going strong, 115, then 125, then 130 upshift fifth gear im now 3 1/2 cars ahead hes not letting up and neither am i, 135, then 140 gettin near my top end and im holding my lead, i decide thats enough and i give him the old hazards for fun. he pulls even and we cruise at 130+ for at least 15 miles im nearing my exit so i slow down give him a thumbs up out the window he does the same and thats it. Great start to a new year .
Sorry about the length but i thought it was worth telling.

i have a borla cat exhaust, k&n fipk, pulleys, lightweight flywheel and clutch. It was a blast i wouldnt have maintained that speed for that long had it not been a 3000, but it was fun thanx.

Re: 3000GT VS. 3000GT (who knew)

well first off, nice kill..

second off... it was stupid to do that on the worst night to race in history... tonight and last night there are cops everywhere pulling anyone over for any reason... especially speeders (lol at Vip) but seriously... the new year's night is all about safety... I usually stop the race once we hit 115 (at the longest)

gotta love that aero dynamic slash at 130, seriously I get scared riding 130 for more then 10 seconds, oil pressure maxxes out at like 120 so there is serious risk there but hell, our blocks are bullet proof so why not. good kill man. what kind of tires are you running?
