6400.00 for '94 325i too much?

Hello:

Just wondering what the consenses might be in purchasing a 1 owner 325i for 6400.00. It's great shape mechanically.
and exterior looks nice too. the only thing wrong is the driver's seat is a bit ratty.
has 120 thousand on it.

thanks,
dave

Check edmunds.com and nadaguides.com for value info.

"great shape mechanically"?: go ahead and spend about $100 for a "pre-buy" checkout from your local BMW dealer. They will also run it buy their computer and tell you the repair history on the car.

Having the car checked-out should be your last decision...after you've decided this is the car for you. The BMW shop or a trusted BMW mech will be able to find the obvious and maybe a few unseen issues but nothing is a sure thing. If the seller balks on letting you take the car for an inspection...walk...walk fast!

Remember...companies that offer vehicle history reports only report those issues that are reported to them! My Z had a small parking lot incident ($4500) that still hasn't shown up on a history report and the repair was done at a BMW dealer.

I would think about 1K high for a private seller and about 2K high for a dealer, JMOP.

Shop around. You'll know the right BMW when you find it. There are boatloads of 325's with fewer miles for about the same money. Check ebay and see what other 94 325's are selling for.

Good luck,

F.

About 1K too high if buying from a private individual.

6400 would be an OK price from a dealer. Forget about the 2K number...fingers working faster than brain cells.
