Question 1987 TC JBL System

my friend owns a 1987 Town Car. It has a factory JBL system in it. I suppose that was the premium sound for that c ar. And I tried to install a head unit in it. I have experience with putting head units in but this one gave me trouble. I did some searching and It says I need OEM connectors? Im unsure what this is all about. But if any1 can help me out finding a way to get this headunit workin in the car. I would appriciate it greatly. Thanks.

Re: 1987 TC JBL System

Yes you need adapters if you want to utilize the factory wires and amp. system. Search for car stereo adapter, car stereo conversion kit, etc to get an idea of what you need.
Some are mfg. specific whereas a "Sony to 87TC" might be different than a generic adapter.

Webs like TuneTown.com, Crutchfield.com and 100's of others have these available relatively cheap.. $10 to $30 for the plugs. Shop around.

also i have a 92 grand marquis and i put a new head unit in with all the harnesses and such and as i would drive i would hear a buzzing noise comeing from the speakers so i called up crutch field and orderd a harness that bypasses the amp in the trunk for crisp clean sound the reason i was geting the buzzing was because my head unit put out 45 watts to each speaker so the amplifyer was geting an amplifyed signal and trying to amplify it which came out as buzzzzz
