engine swap 4.6

Well maybe i should wait longer for a reply but i have an oppertunity to buy a 2003 grand marquis motor with only 25 miles on it, and i am wondering if it will be a direct swap out with my 4.6 in my 1995 grand marquis. I have heard that the tranny will do a direct fit but nothing on the motor mounts etc....
any help would be greatly apperciated.

Is the motor in it a v-8 or a v-6. if it is a v-8 it is probably a 5.0 and if it is you should keep the 5.0 because my brother has a 96 mustang GT with a 4.6L and i am not impressed. But my dad has a 2004 Mustang Mach 1 with the DOHC 4.6 L and that thing can run , but if it is a SOHC i would keep the 5.0 an and simple bolt ons hope this helps!

Re: engine swap 4.6l

I did an engine replacement on my 1995 Grand Marquis and found that only a 1995 Grand Marquis or Ford Crown Vic were the ONLY engines that were a direct match because of bell housing bolt pattern changes made for that year only.
