04 Denali interior lights not coming on when opening a door?
Hi All,
I have an 04 Denali. I cannot figure out how to get the interior lights to come on when I open a door. I have to manually turn them on with the dial on the dash. I know this has to be something stupid - can someone enlighten me? Thanks Kevin |

Re: 04 Denali interior lights not coming on when opening a door?
Hi Kevin.
The dome lamp override switch is a small round push button in the lower left corner under the light switch. Push to toggle the courtesy lights on and off. Here is a test: The courtesy lights will come on if you unlock with the remote control. This is independent of the dome lamp override switch. If this does not work, please notice that the courtesy lights are controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM). The short answer is to give it to a GM dealer who will use the scan tool (costs $3,000 and up on eBay). You need the scan tool to ask the computer about what it thinks of the status of various switches etc. There is no troubleshooting without it. Take care, Eggert

Thanks Eggert,
I feel real smart right now. All I had to do was toggle the switch. I don't know how I didn't see that button. Well at least I got my Volant airbox installed tonight without as many issues as figuring out the interior lights! Kevin |

Hi Kevin, I am glad it works.
We all have our senior moments... Take care, Eggert
