Minidreams how to wild paint!PICS

ok here you all go ! there was a post early in the week where a guy was painting his Celica , and he showed you how he didit well today i want to show you how to do it i another way, whit LOTS more color !frist off the supplies list you will need are / a flat piece of glass,2in tape [automotive works the best]a fine line ink pin [ i use a sharpe] a new # exatco nife blade, twisers ,and lets not forget an IDEA!

I also like to have some magazines on hand just to get a look at what others are tring to do and what looks good to me !

After you know where you want to take the project get some colors in mind ! on this build i wanted a lot of bright colors ,so i went with a ppg 96 honda blue,a house of colors gold , a 64 feiat red a,d then a 99 chevy truck smoke grey, Again this is all done with ppg auto paint!

for the body i am going with a corvette purple !

Ok i put all my models in primer before i paint ,it helps hide the body work and it is safe for the plastic ,and helps the paint stick,it Plastickoto, sandable primer #t235

Ok frist color you want to do are the graphic colors ,so paint the whole body the color you think you would want ,i chose the frist color to be the grey!

with the tape and the mirror you want to lay the tape on the mirrior and draw a graphic,

after you have the graphics cut out lay them on the body where you want the color to show up !remeber if you paint the whole body you can make your graphic every where !

ok after that you move on to your next color ,again you leave the tape on the model and paint the whole body!I chose the gold!

while the color is dring draw you some more graphics ,and again use the whole body to achive your wild look!

after that you move to your next color ! i chose the red!you again paint the whole body !
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6....jpg[/IMG]
draw you more graphics and apply the tape ,at this piont it looks like a big tape ball but keep going it will be worth it LOL!

ok you can try and do as many colors as you want but this is the last color for this build and i went with the blue !Paint the whole body againand draw more graphic !

add your graphics!

ok now you dont take any tape off yet , what you do now is take the color you want the body to be and paint the whole thing!i went with the purple corvette color !

ok now you let that dry for a while ! after it has set for an hour or 2 prees the tape down lightly with your hand then remove the type a layer at a time ,DONT <DONT try and take it off from the bottom layer in 1 quick move it will lift the panit and the 8 hrs you just wasted , Take the tape off and see what you got LOL!After tape is off go back with a brush and fix any thing that you see you want to overlap or has lifted ,then clear it with a light coat and let it set up ,then very very lightly wet sand it and then clear it as if you were to clear it as you other modles after that wet sand it again and polish it out and you wont have a havey lines where you had all the tape LOL!Sorry to say that a sold this kit to a member if AF about 2 yrs ago ,but i made a CD of the build and was able to share with you all Later and enjoy the new year !

Hre are some pic of the finished model Hope you all seen what would help you if you decide to do some thing this wild LOL!

Nice tutorial. Even if I don't particularly like this type of paintjob, I think the technique you showed is very usefull.

Re: Minidreams how to wild paint!PICS

Hey, is that you itr?
I remember that a while back a member here was trying to sell it (probally over a year ago, i think).
He said he was selling it for someone else.
I think it's a beautiful model, but the paintjob is a little too busy for me. I think the interior, bodykit, wheels and drop top conversion are all stunning.

Btw.. welcome and thanks for the great tutorial!
