belt tensioner

How does one check and adjust the belt tensioner on a 2000 Blazer 4.3 vortec?

Re: belt tensioner

There is no adjustment with the belt tensioner. Visually check the mounting, is it straight or starting to cock. If it's twisted, it's bad. Next, with the engine off (sorry, some people aren't the shapest tool in the shed) pull up on the belt. Does the tensioner move smoothly? That's about it.
