dash lights, i cant see at night

i have an 86 and when i turn might lights on my dash lights do not come on. also me clock go's out, when i turn the lights on. when i start the car up the idot light come on, and the lights to the left of my dash come on, just no back lighting on the gages. i cheked all of my fusses, and all were fine.

Could be a bad Light switch or a short check the wirring to see if there are any frayed or open wires. Take the switch out and run a 12 volt Jumper to the dash light connection.

You did try to turn the light knob to adjust your inside lights right?
