After looking closely at a Silverado on my lot (Im a car salesman) I realized that the decal on the side is in the paint. it is a V-6 1500
i had another not too long ago the same way. I also had a reg cab SWB V8 but it had plastic decals. so... i think that the V6 models dont have plastic decals, they are just painted in and v8s have plastic decals.

or am i way off and the painted ones on a base silverado and the plastic on LS or Lt?

I have a 88 silverado it has the hardened plastic symbols and trim. I also have a 96 Cheyenne which has the hardened plastic symbols and trim. They both have 350's in them.

My boss has a 94 Cheyenne 1500 with a V6 they trim is painted on as well as the symbols. A friend of mine has a 99 Silverado with a V6 and they are also painted on. So is my neighbor's 2001 Silverado, V6.

That's a pretty good observation.

i have a 2000 silverado 2500 V8 and it has sticker decales

I have a 2001 Silverado 4.8 v8, has 4x4 stickers as well as 1500 stickers, the tail-gate also has chevrolet stickers. I took ALL the stickers off. I hate stickers.

all of the base and work truck models have vinyl stickers that look like paint , and any truck with the ls and lt trim packages get the hard plastic badging
