Caravan Transmission TCM Code 41
I have a 1996 Grand Caravan with 3.3 L, 4 speed trans, 110,000 miles. Trans going into limp mode and check engine light. Code read P0700 and P0750 and then had the shop read the TCM codes and it read code 41. Replaced the fuild and filter, nothing in the pan, change the solenoid pack. Still same problem. Any other ideas? Checked all wire conectors and ground strap, all seem good. Could it be a bad TCM? Thanks

erosol, how did you get the tranny codes? Is there a procedure for getting them?
The engine codes readible by the ON-OFF, ON-OFF, etc key sequence and reading the "check engine" light flashes shows a code 41 as "Alternator field control circuit open or shorted" so I know thats not the same. Thanks |

Re: Caravan Transmission TCM Code 41
P0700- EATX Controller DTC Present
P0750- Shift solenoid malfunction What it's telling you is that there's an internal fault with the transmission control module; you will have to replace the module |

Sorry for beating this dead horse further............is there a backdoor method for getting tranny codes off a Cavavan 4 speed (604) or is a shop needed? |

Re: Caravan Transmission TCM Code 41
unfortunately, no. Since the van is a 1996, it's the first year of OBD II where it has the single 16-pin connector under the instrument column. To pull up codes, you'll have to go to either a Chrysler dealer or to a place that can pull up codes for the transmisission.
