Infinity Amplifier location
On the 98 ES, where do they hide the amp for the stereo? I believe the amp is finally heading south and I made need to replace it.

Believe it or not, I actually found the amp behind the passenger kick panel just next to the glove box. Had to pull the glove box out to get to the amp. Seems only the drivers door speakers (tweeter and mid) are acting up. May have to check the wiring some more.

Re: Infinity Amplifier location
Must be different on the 98 and up LH Cars, I had a 95 Concorde (Same as Intrepid in size) and now have a 94 LHS, both have Infinity Amps in the trunk in the same spot that A. Souphound described. It was a large rectangular and thin black colored unit that had "Chrysler Infinity Spacial Imaging Amplifier" on the label. I know the speaker layout is different from 98 and up, they had the tweeters mounted on the door frame behind the mirror mounts where the 93-97's had 3 of them on the dash, one on each end and a smaller one in the center.
Definitely check the wiring, I have never heard of very many problems with the Infinity Amps being bad other than people installing aftermarket head units in the dash and not connecting the power antenna lead thus causing the amp to not turn on, but not saying that it can happen. I had problems with the driver's side woofer in the door sounding like it was toast or not working altogether and replaced it only to have the same problem crop up again later and it turned out to be the connection right at the speaker itself was slightly corroded. |

Next stop is to get a known good speaker, tie it into the connectors at the door and work my way back towards the amp. |
