I'm trying to install a hardwire for an Escort 8500 radar detector. I need to find a ingnition on only wire to tap for the install. I have a 2003 Tahoe LS.
Any suggestions? TIA John |

Update to question
Thanks for the ignition fuse answer. This detector came with a wire tap clamp, I was hoping to find a good wire to attach this too, otherwise I'll have to cut the end of the wire to hit a fuse.
Thanks again, John |

You may have already solved your problem but.......I got a fuse extender from Autozone and just plugged it into the radio fuse slot then ran it under the pillar cover up to the 8500. Nice and clean.

THANKS! That should do it. I haven't done anything as I've been under the weather, and now in Chicago the weather is on us ;') I'll give that a shot. Thanks again. John |
