rollover valve

Anybody know how to reset the rollover valve on an '89 marquis? Wife wound up in a ditch last night-- no injuries-- battlewagon won't start-- Any help appreciated--

Best way is to tow it to steep hill, how someone in another car push you down hill to about 40MP and back off...then cut the wheel in your Merc real hard in the opposite direction that your wife rolled in. Try to get at least 2 rolls out of it....to unwind the previous rotation..that should reset it!

P.S wear a helmet.

On second thought...you must have done it a few times without the helmet! Happy New Year!

Hope you had your idiot/asshole filter on for previous response.

Likely the fuel pump cut off switch was activated on roll over. This intertia switch is intended to cut off fuel supply to engine in event of crash.

The reset for this is in the trunk on left side. You should simply need to push the button.

Have a great new year!

My response was based on knowledge of the vehicle and the problem described. I do not know of a "rollover fuel valve" within GM fuel supply system.

I merely attempted to help someone out, rather than making jest of a situation, which may have disabled a family's mode of transport. Some of us don't have the surplus cash to try joke solutions and need to have our cars back on road.

Have happy new year.

33 Chev, your response might have been alright if you'd suggested a solution rather than just abuse somebody. If you don't know, you don't know but at least say so. There are some tolerant forums here, and some that are less so, and a little more businesslike. Since you're new, you might want to surf a bit to find out which are which.

Now...

Mercmarq, did you find the reset switch in the trunk? You probably had to move some of the trunk liner out of the way.
