NGK Platinum

I have heard a lot of things about the NGK platinum, but I have never use the platinum one before, only the "copper top". I am just wondering if you guys notice that the NGK spark plug has a V shape grove on the electrode, and to me that seems to be some kind of marketing strategy.

To me the only effect the "V grove" will do is to reduce the surface area for ionization and the life spend of the spark plug due to the missing edges of the V grove, but correct me if any of you guys don't think so, especially Fritz, since you are the one that has all the technical specs.:smoker:

PS I just want to share this, since I couldn't find the NGK platinums the other day, I was thinking why not try something new, so I got a set of Champion Platinum ($1.99 each) and put them in my D16Z6. After about 2 days later I hooked it up to the oscilloscope and checked it out, and everything looks good and running smoothly. The spike voltage is about 7.5KV for all 4 and the spike voltage spread and movement is about 1KV.:smoker2:
