Hello I just bought a 1993 3000gt vr4 and I tried to put an intake the HKS dual filter but it didnt work because I need to plug in the air flow sensor. I also bout a filter with an adapter and it looks like my turbos over boost. It seems like its getting a lot of air but the engine dies
what kind of high performance intake should I get and how can I make it work. thank you

Re: problems adding an intake
Ok, I'm not entirely sure what you are asking, but I'm assuming you mean that you just bought an HKS intake, installed it, and your car dies when you turn it on?
You need to plug in the sensor at the MAS. When it isn't plugged in and you turn your car on, it will run bad and stall a minute later. As far as overboosting, I'm not sure what you mean...intakes can allow you to boost a slight bit more, but with the stock boost gauge it would still show the same readings, as it tops out at '14psi'. What specifically is the problem you are having?

Re: problems adding an intake
Um...does this look like your intake? Circled in purple is where the sensor should be plugged into the side of the MAS.

hey igovert500, how is the air flow right there??? its been a while since i have seen a VR4 up close, but is there a little hood scoop scoop right there? as it looks, it doesnt seem like it would get good cool fresh air, but then again i dont see where else it could go??
do they make after market hoods to get better air flow to your intake?

Re: problems adding an intake
Well taht isn't my vr4, but my K&N is in the exact same place as his...and as most intakes on vr4s. The stock hood has nothing as far as hood scoops in that area, but some carbon fiber hoods do...that is actually why Musashi was selling his(water was leaking in). Just remember...a vr4 has 2 turbos...so a CAI would be rather pointless, the advantage lies in opening up the restrictive stock airbox...which any open-element air filter does.

the filters go straight to the turbos without pluging the airflow sensor. I also tried to put them like in this picture but I didnt feel any more power. it sucks more air but the engine looses power its weak.
