If anyone has a few minutes I sure would appreciate it
If anyone has read the last post on the Bose stereo system thread they know what I'm about to ask. I would sure be appreciatiative if someone could please help me, I'm asking about 5 minutes of someones time? After installing an amp and sub to my factory stereo I lost my dome light when I open and close my doors. (It works when I turn the panel up all the way) Can someone PLEASE pop off their dash an inch or so on the side and check the harness on the (light level) and dome override box (its part of the dash) and tell me if there is just one harness that plugs in, Or a seperate harness that plugs into the (dome override) part of the dash. I can only find one harness on that side of my dash and am thinking I lost the part that plugs into the (dome override) button part. This would be very beneficial and helpfull thanks much in advance to anyone who helps.

Re: If anyone has a few minutes I sure would appreciate it
Hmmm, having that whole assembly off not so long ago as I was looking to see if there was a bulb over the dimmer. From Memory, I believe that there is only one harness that goes into the light switch. The Dome Override, Light, and Dimmer switch just has one harness that goes into it; that I remember anyways...
Hope this helps....Ev

Just need to figure out what seeing as I sliced 3 wires behind the stereo and sodering them back together, Not sure what I could ahve done. Bad override switch perhaps?

Re: If anyone has a few minutes I sure would appreciate it
Try taking the switch out and run an ohm meter across the contacts on it. One set of contacts across the back should go open and close as you push the over ride switch. This I am assuming anyways as I'm sure all the Override button does is close or open a circuit.
Happy Hunting....frigg'in vehicle makers these days incorporating so many things into the stereos...

Ok one more thing. I noticed the lights dont flash when alarm activated/deactivated. Run your dome override and alarm your car. Let me know if your lights flash. This could help me knock out one problem. :-)

I would except I don't have the fobs for the factory alarm anymore, and I removed my other alarm. My Viper alarm goes in on Friday...

lights still flash on 99. One harness; you can reach in from fuse panel and feel back of switch. Check your grounds. If you cut a ground it could concievably kill both circuits.

TY nekked you just killed 2 of my possible problems. Obviously not the switch and all wires are rehooked. I have double cheked everything nothing unhooked. Hope I didn't fry my BCM. While slicing the ignition wire behind my deck. (uhoh).
