New car...need opinions

My mom is going to buy me a new car cause my civic has been down and she wants me to have a dependable car with a warranty on it. We went and looked at several cars and I really only saw a few I liked.

I like the new Chevy Cobalt Coupes (about 15k). The SS models are nice, but wouldn't pay the extra 7 grand just for a spoiler, ground effects, and super charger. Can get a good aftermarket one if I wanted to do that.

I also like the Scion Xb's. They just have a cool clean look to me. And at about 14k they are pretty cool.

The VW GTI was a deff choice till I saw the 30k price tag.

What are you guys take on this? Also does anyone know the release date on the Cobalts cause I can't find any here.

P.S. I'm not looking for a performance car I want something to drive daily and on trips and stuff. I will be keeping the 91 Civic and installing a boosted high compression Y8 for performance.

I like the scion myself, wanting to get one soon but these other good deals keep poping up. I believe the cobalts are allready out, maby in limited supply though. There is one at a dealership here.

i'm not too fond of chevy, nothing against em i jus never liked chevys (especially the ugly cavaliers, yuck!)

scion gets my vote ^_^ i'd rather get the xA or the tC though. Why not just get another honda, like one of those new Si models? :P

I don't like the new hondas. The new Civic's are just fugly to me. The Cobalt is what I wish the new civics looked more like. I just know I am staying away from all Ford products, had nothing but bad luck with them.

I don't think the Cobalts are out I can't find any here.

Remember this car will be my daily driver too so I am looking for good gas mileage. The Scion Xb gets 30mpg city and 34 highway

Scion without a doubt, it's a division of Toyota so you can't go wrong.

get the scion tc way nicer then the xb

Na the Xb looks better than the tc in my opinion. Plus the Xb actually gets better gas milage.

Update: I was informed we have family members that work for GM so we might be able to get the employee discount if we buy a GM product. So that would lower the price even more on the Cobalt.
