roaring noise 03 astro, driveshaft?

My grandparents just bought a 2003 Astro and it has a constant roaring soud at highway speed. The sound is the worst at the middle seat. They took it back and the chevy place put some kit on to help but the sound is still there. Is anyone else having problems like this? Any suggestions that could help?

Re: roaring noise 03 astro, driveshaft?

I recently traded my '92 Astro (no noise) for a '02 version, which has some type of noise, more of a whine than a roar, but definitely louder that my older van. So far I am putting up with it. Let me know if you find out anything on yours. Thanks.

To me, the noise sounds more like a whine or a humming sound. But my grandmother describes it as a roaring sound.

They did get an kit installed from gm that was suposed to fix it; so I assume others have had this problem. Maybe you can look into the kit for your 02. I'm not sure of the price; they got it under warenty.
