Re: 300th post!

You're a busy guy! Aren't you on several other forums as well? Where do you find the time to work on your car?

P.S. this is #301

Re: 300th post!

well i did a lot of posting when i was in school last year, out in saskatchewan there isn't much to do. now if i'm not working into the wee hours on my car or out somewhere i keep up in the evening. but i usually don't read stuff unless it directly applies to me. the unfortunate thing is that i'm a second gen civic guy in a world that only pays attention to the first gen and third gen civics so sometimes there isn't much to read.

Re: 300th post!

Have you ever looked around at some of the other forums on the AF? Sometimes I brouse through some of the other forums, but I've discovered that the Honda forum is about the only one that gets much response. Sometimes I post in the Impala and Deville forums (because I have one of each) but those forums are extremely slow and it seems that no one is interested in the older cars. That's why I like hangin' out in the 'ol Honda section.

Re: 300th post!

well before my time here this site started as pure-honda.com then admin decided to expand to all makes and models but without a core group of posters it's hard to develope any regulars. i did some looking around last year, seems that igor (the administrator) has or has tried to incorporate other websights' message boards into sub sections here but not everyone goes for that. i used to post i the honda tech and the general tech forums but haven't had the energy to keep up lately, and last time i checked it was kinda slow.

I Think that part of the reason for that is because the 3G Civics ane still somewhat plentiful and usually dirt cheap (which makes them excellent first cars), and the 1g Civics are collector items. The 2g Civics seem to be over looked because most of them need alot of work (as I'm sure you already know) and parts are getting harder to find. But all this just makes your car more unique!

A couple of weeks ago I was helping my brother-in-law work on his Accord when he told me that he did some work a while back for a guy that had an 'ol 1g Civic in his back yard under a tarp. At the time (about 6 months ago) the guy was ready to just give it away! I told him that we should go back because I wanted it, so we did but the car was gone! I should have kicked him for not telling me about it sooner!!!

Re: 300th post!

you want to see views, i have that honda engine list posted on a somewhat dead message board and linked in my sig here. it has over 3000 views already. and a list of interference engines has something like 1800 and i do nothing to promote it.
on that other board there is a most replies thread (with the 4000+ posts) and a most views thread, the most views thread has 118204 views and counting, the most replies does alright too at 116515 views
