Big Block conversion for 1995 Totyota Supra
Has anyone ever heard of a small block, or big block conversion for a 1995 Toyota Supra? Everyone is doing big single turbo and dual turbo upgrades, and I want to do something a little bit different. Major issues that I see are the engine mounts, electrical work, and transmission linkage. The engine bay isn't small, so I don't think space would be a problem. Some of the turbo engines are generating 1,000-1,500 horsepower, and very little work is being done to the frame and rearend. Most guys will keep the stock driveshaft back to the axles. I can't undertand it, but everyone says that the Toyota gear will handle the power. Ultimately, I'm looking for some information on anyone who has done an import to domestic engine/transmission (auto) swap (preferably a Big Block) for a 1993-1998 Toyota Supra. Any information will be appreciated!

Big Block torque would devastate the drivetrain

all that extra weight would destroy the handling, unless you are going with an aluminum block.

Yeah, turbo. Not mutch torque off the line. A well built big block will twist this thing into a pretzel if you get good hook up out of the tires. I had an old big block Mopar that would pop out the windshield EVERY time you floored it, Had to reinforce the frame some more (it already had some) and only glue in the windshield along the top and one side. Do it right and this will be one hell of a ride. I have seen it done with the Datsun B-210. Good Luck.
