Tire Talk

I am going to be replacing my Goodyears within the next few days with something better.

I have had alot of positive reviews about the Bridgstone Dueller Revo's.
Now, I have also heard alot of praise towards the BFG T/A KO's.

As I am looking to get some bigger tires, I was wondering if you guys had and clues at to the best set. Take into mind, I do 1500km/week, hardly go off-roading (although, I have been a few times and would like to go again), and like going nutz on the motorway. No matter what the weather, Rain, Snow, Ice blah blah blah... so I need something that can cope with all of the above.

I was advised to look into the TrXus STS tires also. They look really mean and very tempting seeing as they are almost $80.00 cheaper then the 2 listed above.

Size I am looking at 31x10.5/11.5 on 15.

I know I have to have some lift, but that will be on another topic.

Any ideas and or input would be helpful.

The Revos and the BFGs are both great tires. If you are primarily concerned with highway traction, I would recommend the Revos. They have the best wet traction of any tire I have ever owned, plus they look cool. I have taken them through several "moderate" off-road excursions and they were fine, except for some superficial sidewall damage.

I had the BFGs on my Blazer and they were great off-road, but not as good in rain and snow.

Good luck.

Re: Tire Talk

That was some great input guys.. thanx.
I will be getting some REVO's - you have made my mind up.

Now my only issue is:
1. will 31x10.5 fit on my standard wheels
2. would i really have to get a lift to run this size

I will be ordering them Tuesday.
I was told 30x9.5 should not raise any fitment issues.

Any input??

Re: Tire Talk

What year Jeep. If you have a 96' and older you can probably get away with the 30's, but on the 97 and newer you will have to get at least a 2' lift to fit 30's. As far as 31's, I would seriously look into either a 3" lift or the best, 4.5" lift. Again, it all depends on the model year. Yes, 31x10.5R15 will fit on the stock rims, but recommend going with at least a 15x8" rim, tires will look better, on the 7" it has a tendancy to look like a balloon due to pulling in the bead.

Re: Tire Talk

I would still get what you want, while your waiting for the tires get the lift you want and get it instaled, by the time its all done you'll have your tires to complete the package. send pics when done.

Re: Tire Talk

yeah, i think you're right... I was even contemplating going to buffalo to get a set, but was advised against it cos I could end up paying C&E duties. Any thoughts on that??

I've never seen the REVO tire but the BFG AT's are a great on road/ occasional off-road tire for a DD.

Re: Tire Talk

if you got the "REVO'S" put on while your in Buffalo would you still pay duties on them? i'd suggest the REVO's. And i have owned Both BFG KO's and REVO's. both 31x10.50.....
