Injector question(s)

first off, i was wondering if aftermarket injectors for a 1g eclipse would also work on a 2g?...

Second...550cc or 660cc (and does the brand matter, I have been looking at RC)

My "go" mods consist of...

K&N filter
VRS 3" turbo back exhaust with ported o2 housing
2100lb act clutch
Greddy profec B boost controller
Greddy Type S bov
NGK plugs and wires
SBR big FMIC
walbro 255hp fuel pump (not yet installed)
A'pexi S-AFCII (not yet installed)
tokico shocks and springs

looking to buy soon:
SBR Evo III 16G
(and injectors 550cc OR 660cc??)

Re: Injector question(s)

i would not go RC. my boy had his 2nd gen done all up and when he ran it the RC got stuck opean and he blew his head gasket, but that could just have been that one time. i just hard that happens to them. they get stuck opean and keep spitting fuil. i wounder about your fuil pump, i was told i can use an acura integra fuil pump. o well

Re: Injector question(s)

Thats the first bad thing I have heard about RC but it could be from the injectors getting gummed up from bad gas. If they were brand new thats a different story, RC should know about it. It could of even happened cause you had to big of a fuel pump in there and not te correct pressure regulator so it blew open cause the fuel pressure was too high, I've seen that happen before...

Joel... Yes aftermarket injectors for a 1g will work fine in a 2g. And like I was telling you before, 550s are plenty but if you want to get some good numbers on pump gas then go with the 660s.

On a side note: Joel I come back from Florida Thursday the 6th and if you wanna work on your car that Friday (7th), let me know. I dont have to be back to work until the 10th.

Re: Injector question(s)

Yes thats right... I forgot to add my $.02 about the acura pump. Their pumps are about 50lph less @ 14v then the stock fuel pump so I would never put an acura pump in my car!

Re: Injector question(s)

They wouldnt if you have a air/fuel controller and are not always boosting.

With my 660s in my RS i can get anywhere from 23-25mph on the highway and around 20 in town. Just dont boost and have your car tuned for the 660s and your gas milage wont change much from stock injectors.

Re: Injector question(s)

Correct, changing injectors does nothing to your mileage if you adjust for them with an AFC, etc. Thats the whole point. They will still "appear" to be stock 450s to the ECU and motor, but will have a lot more headroom before they max out.

For what its worth, the only mods that affected my mileage were the cams, and later the intake manifold. The 2.4 also changed it considerably, but that should be obvious.

Re: Injector question(s)

I was only saying about the pump beacuse i took it out om my integ, it's a 255 Walbros. Sorry i made it sound like i was gonna use the stock one my bad. (No i'm not a smart man, but i do know what love is)..j/k

Will that work? i have it in my shop and i don't wanna put it back in the integ i don't run noz on it anymore so no need, and it sucks up to much gas for a daily driver. I was told it might just plug up.
